What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Worlds of Eternity?
First off, we’d like to say thank you for allowing us to do this interview questionnaire. I’m sure some have noticed there are two authors for “Worlds of Eternity”. The reason is we are twin brothers, always have been together our entire life. The idea behind the book started off as a tiny seed from a dream one of us had. From there, we bounced ideas off of each other and the story, its universe, eventually grew over the years.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Worlds of Eternity, what would they be?
Aaron: We don’t really have a specific theme song for our characters. However, we’ve always imagined key scenes in our book that would match perfectly with certain songs or soundtracks.
Allen: It does help having a playlist to listen to. While creating or writing, it can motivate and inspire, to bring the scene more to life.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Allen: Of course, definitely. “Worlds of Eternity” is a blend of fantasy & sci-fi. And I have always enjoyed reading those two genres the most.
Aaron: Write what you know. That can relate to your own life or your imaginative one. If you have a plethora of knowledge in a subject, use it to your advantage, especially in writing.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Aaron: I started reading the Wheel of Time series again, having never completed it after Robert Jordan passed. So, I will most likely be occupied with the entire set for a good while.
Allen: I have read most, if not all, Michael Crichton novels. I usually rely on his books when I need a good read to keep me interested and entertained. While choosing our writing style, we were heavily inspired by Mr. Crichton. Thus, why we decided on naming our main character after him.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Allen: I would say the scene when Michael leaves Earth for the first time. The book has so far taken place in a modern setting. Then, the reader learns that traveling the universe isn’t done by conventional means. It’s a great revelation that sets the mood for the rest of the book.
Aaron: Chapter 40, absolutely. It’s the longest and most action-packed chapter. Everything builds up to this moment where the protagonists and antagonists clash in a challenging duel. It was indeed a lot of fun to write!
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Aaron: Listening to music while writing, mostly rock. I can’t have any television shows or movies on, though. It’s impossible to write with other dialogue in the background.
Allen: Drinking iced coffee before writing. It helps stimulate the brain and get those creative juices flowing.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Allen: Any of our philosophies you will find in the book and future books. I feel that the only way to make realistic characters is if they share a bit of the author’s beliefs and ideals.
Aaron: It’s true. The best thing you can do is put a little of yourself into your characters. Plus, the story we are trying to tell isn’t good vs evil. It’s not that simple, just like life.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Aaron: Please make sure to visit our website. It’s a great guide to understanding more of our universe. Also, plenty of art and description to help fill in the missing details. And most importantly, there is a glossary!
Allen: There is a lot more to the “Worlds of Eternity” series to enjoy in the future. We have plenty of books in mind and we just ask for our fans to be patient. If you have any questions, or just want to discuss our book, send us a message. We’d like to hear from our readers. Thank you!
