Interview with Barbara Nolan, Author of Wicked Lies

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Wicked Lies?

I have always wanted to write a mafia series and this is loosely based on when my husband and I owned restaurants and nightclubs.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Wicked Lies, what would they be?

Born to Be Wild.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Mystery and Suspense.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

The Summer House and Just the Nicest Couple.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved the last scene because it goes in a completely different direction than the reader probably suspects. I usually don’t write cliffhangers but this one will definitely have you on the edge of your seat.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Reading is a luxury, writing is a necessity.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

That they had fun reading it and felt like they were part of the world I created.
