What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Rom Com Movie Club (Book 1)?
I am always inspired by Rom Com movies. I am the quoter of the one liners, the lover of the misunderstanding, and fan of the many tropes. Having a trilogy that pulled from my love of Rom Com movies only seemed logical. Of course, the research was fun as well!
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
My favorite genre is also Romance, and its many subcategories. I also love biographies as well. It gives me a nice balance.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Right now I have Lynn Painter’s “The Do-Over”, Matthew Perry’s “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” and Katherine Center’s “Happiness for Beginners.”
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
I think my favorite scenes were all of the Rom Com Movie Club nights. When the girls would get together to watch movies with face masks and pajamas. This is where the true sisterhood is brought out in the books, and where we really get to know the characters.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
My quirky writing habit is covering my work so no one sees it. I don’t mind if ANYONE reads my work, but over my shoulder is a no-no. So I’m quick to swipe screens.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
My motto is that I write the antidote to anything you might have read that is heavy. I am the author that will pull you back into a happier place. I also say I can write romance because I live it, and I will always promise a happily ever after.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
I would like readers to remember that a true love story isn’t always between a couple. Sometimes learning to love ourselves and the flaws we assume we have is in itself a romance.
