Interview with Catherine Stine, Author of Theater of Curses (Sleuths of Shadow Salon Book 2)

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Theater of Curses (Sleuths of Shadow Salon Book 2)?

This is the second in my supernatural detective series, starring investigators, Celestine, a witch and art intuitive, and Luna, a mermaid and water mage. I love the idea of two women owning a detective firm.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Theater of Curses (Sleuths of Shadow Salon Book 2), what would they be?

“Do you Believe in Magic?”

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I like urban fantasy thrillers, kind of like what I write!

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

A Deborah Wilde urban fantasy, and Merlin Sheldrake’s Entangled Life.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

Luna learning how to realm jump and play the demon’s games.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I envision the scene first as if I am watching theater.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Stay in the present. Live deeply.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

That I took them on a rollercoaster ride! Each book can be read as a standalone.
