What can you tell us about your new release, Trouble?
Trouble begins as a story of revenge with two beautiful damaged people, but ends up being a story of true love. These two characters find each other in the most unlikely way and quickly become enamored with one another. Ultimately, I think it’s really about how you can heal through the power of love.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
I’ve wanted to be writer since I was a little girl. My aunt used to take me to the library and I’d check out all sorts of novels and just lose myself in those rich worlds… I just had this burning desire to be part of the magic of storytelling.
What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read?
A Separate Peace by Jon Knowles
Paradise Lost by John Milton
Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff
A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught
Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani
Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?
Jane Austen. I think I’d spend the hour talking about Mr. Darcy. 🙂
What’s your favorite thing about writing?
There’s a special kind of magic when you’re in your little bubble. You get to lose yourself in a world that’s make believe and you can go wherever or turn your characters into whoever you want. I’ve always been accused of being a dreamer and living in the clouds so it’s really the perfect job for me.
What is a typical day like for you?
I wake up and meditate then check emails. After, I usually go for a walk then really start my work day writing and working on my producing projects.
What scene in Trouble was your favorite to write?
My favorite scene is when Trouble first sets eyes on Kerri in his club. The moment they come face to face after all the years he’s been watching her… it was super sexy to write.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Be kind.
