Interview with Dameyon Allen, Author of Ambitious’ Secret: Hope’s Story

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Ambitous’ Secret: Hope’s Story?

Behind every successful story, there’s normally also tales of failure, that we don’t get to see. So with this story, I wanted to show how and why ambitions, and/or the lack thereof, play an important part when dodging or accepting defeat. And I was motivated to write this story, based on the women in my life. As men, we tend to think that beautiful women have easy lives. And while that may be true throughout a lot of situations, the contrary quite often plays its hand as well. Sometimes, being beautiful can be a gift and a curse.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Ambitous’ Secret: Hope’s Story, what would they be?

1) Oil Money by Bryce V.I.$ and Jada. 2) Money, Power, & Respect by B.I.G & Lil Kim.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Contemporary Fiction/Urban/City Life. And yes. It’s my favorite genre to write.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

The Art of War, Forty Eight Laws of Power.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved writing every scene.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Hard work pays.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

The sky’s the limit.
