What can you tell us about your new release, Salem Burning?
“Salem Burning” is a fast-paced, brand-new take on the Salem witch trials. This time, the women win. She Gets Revenge!
In 1692, a disreputable young man accuses his fiancee of witchcraft. Little does he know, she really is a witch.
What books are currently on your night stand?
I’m currently re-reading a Sidney Sheldon novel, “The Other Side Of Midnight”. Such a page-turner! Sidney was amazing.
Who are your literary heroes working today? Why do you admire them?
I really believe that J.K. Rowling is the Charles Dickens of the 21st century. She has a magnificent mind. I love the way she conjures characters – they’re unusually well-done. You really feel you know the people she fashions out of ink.
What’s your favorite thing about writing?
I like getting lost in the story; becoming part of the world I’m writing about.
What is a typical day like for you?
I like to write for hours, 14, 15, 16, hours, until I’m so tired I don’t know what the words mean.
BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?
Invisibility. Writers are professional observers of the human condition so that superpower would be invaluable.
What scene in Salem Burning was your favorite to write?
I really enjoyed writing the “Salem Burning” epilogue because it foreshadows the return of Lilly Parris.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Treat people with respect.
