What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Money Skills for Teens and Young Adults?

Growing up, conversations about money were often limited to expenses or the lack thereof. I noticed a significant gap in financial education, especially for teens and young adults. This inspired me to write a book that provides practical, easy-to-follow guidance on managing money effectively. My goal is to equip the younger generation with the skills they need to make informed financial decisions and build a solid foundation for their future.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I enjoy reading self-help and educational books, especially those focused on personal development and financial literacy. This aligns perfectly with my writing, as I aim to create content that empowers readers with practical knowledge and skills.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

“Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki, “The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey, and “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

My favorite scene to write was the section on setting financial goals. It was rewarding to break down complex financial concepts into simple, actionable steps that readers can easily implement. This chapter is pivotal in helping readers understand the importance of goal-setting and how it can lead to long-term financial success.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I enjoy writing with a cup of herbal tea by my side. It helps me stay focused and relaxed. Occasionally, I also like to play soft instrumental music in the background to stimulate my creativity.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

“Your destiny takes form in your teen years. Lay the foundation for a thriving future.” This philosophy drives my passion for educating teens and young adults about financial literacy.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

I want readers to remember that financial literacy is the key to unlocking their potential and achieving financial freedom. It’s not just about earning money; it’s about making your money work for you.
