What can you tell us about your new release, Creeping Beautiful?
Creeping Beautiful is a very twisted, cinematic romantic suspense set in the deep southern swamps of Louisiana. Our heroine, Indie, is a ten-year-old child assassin brought up within a secret organization called The Company. She is purchased at a Company auction by Adam, one of the “untouchable” Company men. He’s putting together an assassin team with his best friend, McKay, and he wants to use Indie as his weapon. But Indie’s mind has already damaged by her early training and Adam needs the help of another Company untouchable, Donovan, to keep her sane as she grows up. It’s a very unusual love story that involves one girl, four men, and fourteen years of memories to finally reveal their true feelings for one another.
Which books would we be surprised to find on your shelves?
I have a set of signed UK first-edition copies of Richard K Morgan’s Altered Carbon Series on my shelf. They might be my most prized possessions.
You’re hosting a literary dinner party. Which three writers are invited?
I’m not really a dinner-party kind of person. But if I had to force three writers to endure this event with me, I’d choose Julia Kent (she makes people laugh), Raine Miller (she’s classy and looks amazing in a dinner party dress) and my SF writer friend, Terry Schott. (He’ll cover for me when I disappear upstairs to watch Netflix).
What’s on your writing desk?
I have an office desk that’s covered in papers, Diet Pepsi cans, and my Photoshop tablet. But I don’t write at that desk. I write on my laptop in bed. So… my writing “desk” is actually a pillow.
BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?
Invisibility. Don’t even have to think about it.
What scene in Creeping Beautiful was your favorite to write?
I loved every writing single word of this novel. There is no way to choose just one.
