What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Housewife Chronicles II? The Housewife Chronicles series of books is based on a TV series I wrote that is currently being pitched to Networks. I had so much fun creating this quirky group of ‘housewives’ that I wanted to expand their stories in novels and give each of the women their own book. Housewife Chronicles II is Grace’s story and she is definitely one of my favorite characters in the series, but I may be biased because she’s an author! If you woke up in the world of Housewife Chronicles II, what is the first thing you would do? Take a run with Beth, take a yoga class with Gina, and then meet up for weekly coffee to try to solve the latest murder mystery, of course 😉 If you had to write a blurb for the last book you read, what would it say? A fun, exhilarating ride! When two friends go on a road trip to find the truth about their past, the truth is not what they’d expected. What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write? I love reading romance and thrillers (both of my genres), but my favorite is women’s fiction that incorporates elements of both, which is probably why I love writing my Housewife Chronicles series-it has a bit of everything-humor, romance, and suspense. Do you have any quirky writing habits? Where did you write Housewife Chronicles II? I have an old-fashioned typewriter (one of my prized possessions) that I meditate in front of when I’m stuck on my book or screenplay. I used to write in my office at my desk when I lived in Alberta, Canada. But since moving to sunny Spain this year, I write outside by the pool on the deck table, surrounded by palm trees. Definitely better scenery, but it can also be a little distracting! What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? “No one cares about my career as much as I do.” It definitely helped me realize that I need to be the one working towards my goals and fighting for the career I want. Taking advice from amazing people and choosing which to follow and which to ignore if it doesn’t align with my dreams for myself and my career.
