What can you tell us about your new release, Broken Compass?
Broken Compass is a contemporary romance Reverse Harem. That means that the heroine has several love interests and that they all end up together in the end. Broken Compass is set in the same world as most of my books, esp. Caveman and Bad Wolf. It has a lot of angst, suspense, and also sexy times.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
I don’t think one thing or person inspired me. Stories made me do it! I love books and movies, I love stories, always have. It was not a big leap for me from reader to writer. I just wanted to write my own stories, the ones spinning inside my head, the ones I couldn’t find on the shelf. And here we are.
What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read?
This is tough… I will stick to romance for this one. I’ll have to say… the New Camelot trilogy by Sierra Simone (I’m cheating! I know). One Too Many by Jade West. Rock by JA Huss. Pet by Isabella Starling. Easy by Tammara Weber.
Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?
I’d invite Colleen Hoover, one of my favorite romance authors, and ask how she comes up with the crazy twists of her stories.
What’s your favorite thing about writing?
Creating a world and its characters, then watch those characters struggle and grow and fight against all odds to find their happy ending.
What is a typical day like for you?
Wake up, have a bucket of coffee, check emails and reply to those that seem urgent. Start writing. Continue writing. Write until I drop. More or less… lol.
What scene in Broken Compass was your favorite to write?
Another tough question… Tough to say without giving spoilers. Let’s go with the scene when Sydney first lays eyes on Kash, the third of the three boys.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Always do your best, be as kind as you dare, and push your limits.
