What can you tell us about your new release, Delivering Her Secret?
It’s a steamy take on a doctor-patient relationship, in a way. It’s about two people from totally different backgrounds finding what they lack in each other.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
I was inspired by the greats in contemporary romance. LJ Shen inspires me, in particular.
Who are your literary heroes working today? Why do you admire them?
Wow, there are so many, it’s hard to name just a few. As I said, LJ Shen – that’s because of the depth of her characters and the way she pushes boundaries at times. I’m also a fan of Adriana Locke – I love how she writes men! And, of course, my girl Emily Bishop.
What’s your favorite thing about writing?
That it’s real even if you don’t believe it is. The characters are so real. They’re right alongside you throughout the book.
What’s a typical day like for you?
Coffee, write, repeat – with some exercise thrown in at the end of the day. I’m really driven about getting the words down on the page.
BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?
Ooo, I’m now able to make anyone stop fighting and fall in love. Kind of like Cupid.
What scene in Delivering Her Secret was your favorite to write?
I loved writing them all, but I really enjoyed writing the first sex scene between the two main characters, just because they were connecting on a deeper level and it was such a big thing for Charlie (Charlotte) since she was about to lose her virginity. (I think secretly some of us women want a redo of that moment and I enjoyed making it all she could ever want out of her first time).
