What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Trapped in Once Upon a Time?
This book can be read as a standalone or as the second book in my Once Upon a Time series. I hadn’t planned on writing a sequel to the first book but my readers loved the world so much, and it was so fun to write, so I turned it into a series. I spent a few years making these stories up in my head, so it was fun to get them out there.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Trapped in Once Upon a Time, what would they be?
“Lost in the Woods”
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I like to read romance worked into other genres. I do like to read young adult, but I prefer to write it.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
‘Cinderella and the Colonel’, ‘Beasts and Blades’, ‘The Rose Kiss’.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
When Lottie needed to kiss the beast and she didn’t want to. I always enjoy writing funny scenes.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I have a blue mug with a moose on it that I drink hot chocolate from while I’m writing. The temperature is in the hundreds, and I’m still drinking hot chocolate.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
“Have Courage and be Kind.” – from the live action Cinderella
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Second chances can be magical.
