Interview with Lauren Blakely, author of The Dating Proposal

What can you tell us about your new release, The Dating Proposal?

The Dating Proposal is a fun, fresh romance about the pitfalls and perils of the dating circuit/ Especially when they involve falling for your new business partner. Basically, the heroine is finally ready to put herself out there again, and get her groove back, but, oops, she starts to fall for the right person at the wrong time.

What’s the last book you read?

I just finished TOP SECRET, the new co-written romance by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy and it is sexy and addictive and I want them to write ALL THE BOOKS!

You’re hosting a dinner party. Which three writers are invited?

First, can I take them out to dinner instead? Second, I LOVE Nora Roberts. I also adore Christina Lauren and there are two of them, so that’s three! But why not add Laurelin Paige to the mix since she’s a great conversationalist!

Where did you write The Dating Proposal? (your couch, a coffee shop, a bar… hey – we won’t judge)

This is a great question! I wrote this book literally everywhere! I wrote it in a fit of creativity and passion and desire to give these characters the story they deserved and I did it in two weeks over the Christmas holidays. I wrote in the library one night when power went out at my house, I wrote on the flight to South Carolina, I wrote on the flight back to California, I wrote it in the hotel in Mendocino, Calif when my husband fell asleep, and I wrote it on my couch so I could finish it in time. I loved literally every second of writing this book. It made me happy.

What are you currently craving?

Chocolate chip cookies. I crave them pretty much around the clock.

What scene in The Dating Proposal was your favorite to write?

I do love the orgasmic fries scene 🙂
