If you were in an elevator with a stranger and had 1 minute or less to describe American Conspiracy before the doors opened, what description would you give? American Conspiracy is a kaleidoscopic inspection of complex characters struggling to find meaning against the backdrop of paralyzed politics and cracking social cohesion. What’s your favorite scene from your new release, American Conspiracy? Chapter 43. Det. Jim Murphy of the Chicago PD confronts the corrupt Captain Jack Cronin, a man he thinks his godfather, but who turns out to be his father. What’s your favorite thing about writing? What’s your least favorite thing about it? My favorite thing is the joyful flow of writing down as fast as I can what a percolating imagination reveals before it escapes again in a game of hide and seek. The least favorite is the business of publication and promotion. What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write? My favorite genre to read is the same as my favorite genre to write: mystery/thriller. Which books would we be surprised to find on your shelves? You would be surprised to find together on my shelves The Art of Living by Epictetus and How to Clean Practically Anything by Consumer Reports. If you had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of your life, where would you choose? If had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of my life, it would Tuscany, Italy without a doubt. What will your next adventure or writing project be? My next adventure or writing project is blowing in the wind.
