What can you tell us about your new release, Royal Scandal?
Royal Scandal is the first book in my new series, Royals in Exile, which is about siblings who’ve been exiled to America following their parents’ assassination. In this book, we meet Crown Prince Colin, who not only is the oldest, but is the caretaker of the family. He has the opportunity to bring his siblings out of exile, but only if he agrees to marry a suitable woman and become king. Colin isn’t too keen on that idea, so he proposes a marriage of convenience to his best friend, Della Hughes. She has no idea that he’s a prince!
What books are currently on your night stand?
The Case for Christ, The Host, and Secret Lives of First Ladies
Who is your favorite couple from literature?
Darcy and Elizabeth! Her tart tongue and his grump demeanor both hide their true selves. And when they allowed their true selves to be revealed—perfection!
You’re hosting a literary dinner party. Which three writers are invited?
Shakespeare because I can always use new insults and he certainly had a way with them. Austen because I want to encourage her to write more romantic comedies like Love and Friendship. George Orwell. I simply want to pick his mind.
Where is your happy place? Why does it bring you joy?
My happy place is anywhere my family happens to be. My husband and kids bring me joy because we love to hang out, travel, and try new things!
How do you spend a rainy day?
Reading!
What scene in Royal Scandal was your favorite to write?
My favorite was when Della not only got a proposal of marriage, but also learned that her best friend was a Crown Prince.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Love others more than you love yourself, especially the people you don’t like. If we adopted this, I think a lot of problems would be solved.
