What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Lizzie Fox?
Several years ago while attending the Austin Film Festival, writer and director, John Lee Hancock encouraged me to write a screenplay about things I was familiar with and have a female as the protagonist. Lizzie Fox the novel started out as an award-winning screenplay.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Lizzie Fox, what would they be?
Funny you should ask, the chapter headings in Lizzie Fox are popular songs of the era that reflect the mood and tone of that chapter.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
No favorites.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
None at the moment.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Lizzie knows that to unravel the mystery, she must travel to La Zona Rosa, a seedy place on the outskirts of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico—also known as Boys Town.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Not that I know of.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
I would rather have tried and failed, than not to have tried at all!
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Where you find power you will almost always find corruption.
