Interview with Nora Bloom, Author of The Lies We Live By (The Forever and Always Series Book 1)

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Lies We Live By (The Forever and Always Series Book 1)?

I have often thought about where I would go if I ever had to run away from a bad situation, and I pictured that Alaska would be the perfect place to hide. I love the scenery, the beautiful nature and the thought of a small town where everyone knows everyone and they all stick together. Even if it’s to help a newcomer against something threatening her.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of The Lies We Live By (The Forever and Always Series Book 1), what would they be?

Shania Twain’s “Forever and For Always” is a song that fits them both perfectly. They’re so cute and in love but have to go through a lot just to be together.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I love reading romance novels. They’re the perfect getaway from life’s trouble.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Colleen Hoover: Verity. I love her books.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

When they share their first kiss. It takes a while for Lisa to give in to Oliver, and it’s so sweet when she finally does.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I always have my daughter’s cat in my lap, and I like to listen to music while writing.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is love.” – Sophocles

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

That love can happen anywhere, especially when you’re not looking for it.
