What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Will Pucking Ledger?
Will Pucking Ledger was a great opportunity for me to live out my childhood obsession with the 90’s Mighty Ducks movie, in a fully adult, very spicy manner! But, really, I love sports and romance. Getting to combine the two in a book was a dream come true. Who can resist a hot professional hockey player? I also loved pairing the tough athlete with a strong, feisty woman.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I love to read both romance and mystery. If a book’s got both—even better!
I love to write romance. It’s so much fun developing characters and allowing them to lead the story. I truly find that my characters take the wheel and steer the story in their own unique ways.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I’ve got a wide array on the TBR stack. Dark Lies by Elliot York is on top, a few romances from Tess Oliver and Penelope Ward are loaded on my Kindle, and a paperback of Tana French’s The Likeness is on the bedside table.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Oh gosh, that’s hard. I really loved writing all of the scenes where Will and Addie are together. The steamy scenes in the cabin were especially fun to write. Oh, and the office scene!
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I love to sit outside on my patio and write. It’s covered, so even when the weather is inclement, I have a nice, dry space to type away the day. My three rescue pups love to hang by my side all day while I work.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Find the positive. Even when times get hard, there’s always a way to look for the positive.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
I really just hope that readers find a fun, sexy escape with the book. Life can be hard, and finding those brief moments of escape is so important.
