What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Dallas & Georgia?
I’ve always wanted to write a story about best friends trying to figure out what to do after they’ve fallen in love with each other. I wanted to show how their friendship has grown over the years, and how love can be shown in numerous different ways. Doing this, while throwing in a hilarious family dynamic, makes for a really good read!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Dallas & Georgia, what would they be?
Wonderwall by Oasis.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Young adult and new adult are my favorite genres to read. These are the same genres I write as well.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I don’t have any books currently on my TBR list because I’m trying to finish writing my next book. As soon as I’m done, though, I’ll take the time to read!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Any scene that involves the whole family being together is hilarious, but my favorite scene between Dallas and Georgia would be when they kiss for the first time.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I actually write best while road tripping. I bring my laptop with me wherever I go and write from the passenger’s seat in my Suburban. At home, I need to have coffee. I feel like I can’t write without a cup of coffee staring at me.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Live every day like it’s your last.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Friendship is truly beautiful. Whether that friendship turns into something more or not.
