What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Feud?
I wanted to write a story that had an epic history behind the conflict, sort of a modern day Hatfields and McCoys. One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers. On top of that, I wanted to write a series revolving around horses, particularly the American Saddlebred since we own one and my daughter rides competitively. I just knew Kentucky would provide a rich backdrop for such a sweeping tale.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
My favorite genres to read are fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal and horror. My favorite genre to write is romantic fantasy!!! I love the world building and making up my own rules.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I’m currently reading Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff and next is The Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Lynde.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The Bachelor auction. It showcased Ethan and Marcie’s personalities perfectly and well, I always like to see the catty woman put in her place.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Nothing quirky! Quite boring but I write in a chair by the window looking out over the lake with both my dogs snoring beside me. Every. Single. Day.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
It’s all about the golden rule… treat others the way you want to be treated. Kindness rules.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Love comes in many forms and nothing heals a wounded soul better.
