What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Bonded for Life?
I attended my 35th High School Reunion, and then my 50th. At the second one, I found out two of my classmates reconnected at the 35th High School reunion and got married shortly afterward. I thought to myself, now THAT is a romantic story!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Bonded for Life, what would they be?
Webster: It’s My Life by Bon Jovi; Lola: Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
SciFi, Mystery, Suspense, Paranormal Romantic Suspense and yes, yes, yes!
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
The Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler; Desperate Alliance by Jannine Gallant; The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley…and more!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Hard to choose. The Prologue was fun to write and even more fun when I read it at a Lady Jane’s Salon in Pennsylvania. I had a good time with the football players’ voices. Scenes with the cat, GATO, were fun to write. He’s unpredictable. Also, I loved writing Webster’s mother, who has Alzheimers disease. She’s an unreliable narrator, but at times can be spot on.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I have my lucky NanoWrimo T-shirts that I wear almost every day. Plus, a covered water tumbler from Written Word that says Sip. Write. Repeat. I’m very fond of it.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Rule #1: Be kind. Rule #2: If you make a mistake, apologize. Rule #3: See Rule #1.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Revenge is not a dish best served cold. It only hurts the person who carries that pain with them for years and years.
