Interview with Stephanie K Clemens, Author of Stripped Away

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Stripped Away?

The book is about young women that have escaped the king’s law that requires them to be stripped away from them. I started writing this book after Roe v. Wade was overturned and was inspired to write a book that talked about women’s rights in a different way.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Rom Com is my favorite to read. I haven’t written a pure rom com yet, but I’m looking forward to doing so soon.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Too many to even count. But I’m really looking forward to the third book by Hannah Grace.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved writing the scene on the river because it was something I experienced in person.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I write late at night.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

I sorta live by the idea that you should just do it, especially if it scares you.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

We all struggle with things that can’t be seen.
