What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Game Plan (Lies He Told Book 4)?
This is Randy’s story, younger brother of Sophie and Leah Bonnar. I’d already done stories for them, and he needed his turn. The Lies He Told series—Lies He Told Me, Rain Man, Don’t Move, and now Game Plan, have people in them who are related to each other in one way or another. I feel like the families are finally whole again.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Game Plan (Lies He Told Book 4), what would they be?
Like his older brother, Randy is a Collective Soul fan, he listens to “I’ll be perfect to stay.”
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Cryptonomicon, by Neil Stephenson, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, by Betty Smith.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
All of them. I so enjoy creating these characters, then putting them into difficult situations and watching them work their way out. It’s fun!
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Do unto others – it makes me feel good if I’m able to help someone else, and I’m always very grateful if someone is willing to help me. It makes the world a better place.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
We all suffer troubles, they come into each life for a different reason, and we need to remember that. When we are struggling, so are others, reach our your hand.
