Interview with Tana Stone, Author of Legacy

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Legacy?
This book emerged at the end of a previous series, the Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors, when one of the alien warriors goes back to the academy where he teaches. I wanted to write more in the world of the secret-shrouded academy, so Legacy and the Warriors of the Drexian Academy series was born.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Legacy, what would they be?
I actually have Spotify playlists for each of the four schools that make up the academy, so when readers take a quiz on my website to find out which school they belong in, they get the playlist.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I love romance of any kind but I also read a lot of mysteries, which is why so many of my romance novels have some kind of mystery.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
A historical British mystery, an orc romance, and a nonfiction book about the philosophy of Ted Lasso.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
I loved writing the scenes where the hero and heroine have to get through a maze of challenges.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I usually have a cat on my desk and sometimes one under it.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
“Just keep swimming” from Finding Nemo.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Which of the four schools–the Assassins, the Blades, the Irons, or the Wings–they would want to join!
