What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Hate Mail?
I’ve written nearly every trope under the sun, but I hadn’t written an arranged marriage book yet. I wanted to do my own spin on it while staying true to my brand (angsty, enemies to lovers).
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Hate Mail, what would they be?
Make You Feel My Love — for both characters! (It has a special significance in the book).
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
It’s a tie between psychological thrillers and romance! I like to alternate the two with both reading and writing. I call romances my “palette cleansers” because sometimes I need something feel-good after something dark.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
More books than I could list. I have them stocked away in drawers and cabinets and on random shelves throughout my house. I can’t stop buying them even though I never have time to read as much as I’d like!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Ah! It has to do with the twist, so I can’t say more than that! 😉
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I always have the cover made before I start writing because it sets the tone. It’s difficult for me to start a new book without one!
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Progress over perfection. I’ve always had an all-or-nothing perfectionistic mindset, and I’ve been working hard to change that.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Not to much remember… I just want them to close the book and to have enjoyed the time they spent in that world.
