What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Do You Remember Me??
The first chapter I wrote was one of the last chapters in the book. It started as a journal entry about life’s regrets. Lost loves, career short comings, and loss of faith. What kept developing in the story was a cry for love and acceptance. The final realization in this journey of discovery for me was the critical elements of “self-love.”
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Do You Remember Me?, what would they be?
Everlong, Foo Fighters; The Rain Song, Led Zepplin; Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Coming of Age. I can write romance but it always turns into a coming-of-age story. Love is dependent upon experiences. Experiences are what we learn in “coming of age.”
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Several teachings on Buddhism. Silas House, Clay’s Quilt. Prodigal Summer, Barbara Kingsolver. The Four Winds, Hannah Kristin.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
A Walk In the Snow.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Nope. Just bad habits, like procrastination. When I know its time to write my office gets a thorough cleaning.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Renewed in Mind. Renewed in Body. Renewed in Spirit.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Before you can love another, you must first love yourself.
