So what makes a book a love triangle?

In these books there are two men who are very real contenders for the heroine, two possible heroes who might end up with her. The reader doesn’t know which one will happen in the story, much like we don’t know how things will happen in real life. That makes it a more adventurous read!

That might seem like a small thing, but it’s actually pretty huge when you consider that most stories resolve to please the reader. Mysteries are solved and romances are sealed, unless the book is a tragedy. Love triangles are unique in that they please half the reader… and make the other half completely heartbroken!

It’s a risky business for both readers and authors alike.

And with great risk comes great reward… There’s such an intense roller coaster ride with a genuine love triangle! These stories make readers feel and think and yearn.

SUGAR DADDY by Lisa Kleypas

The first time I read this book the ending took me by surprise. I won’t give the spoiler away, but I expected it to be the other person. But the more I read and re-read this book, which has been many times over the year, the more Kleypas’s skill as an author shines through in proving that her choice was the right man for her after all.

FAKING IT by Elisa Lorello

This sexy women’s fiction novel features a writing professor who exchanges lessons with a male escort. While the book starts as a somewhat conventional, if provocative romance, things go off the rails around the middle. Andi may long for Devin, but he’s not ready for a relationship.
