What do you do when those sexy baseball players won’t get out of your head? Well, you start a new series. Yep, you read that right. I have a brand-new, stand-alone spin-off series, Cessna U Wildcats, coming your way. The leadoff hitter is Swinging Strike, an enemies to lovers romance featuring Cara Gonzalez and Braxton Smith.
Cara is the strong-willed sister to AJ Gonzalez from the Bad Boys Redemption series. Wanting to escape her past drama and focus solely on school, she transfers to Cessna University. With one semester under her belt, the remaining two years should be smooth sailing. No drama, no dilemmas, and more importantly, no hot athletes to foil her plans.
Insert Braxton Smith, captain of the baseball team. He has it all from talents to looks, but struggles aren’t always visible. The moment I penned Braxton down on paper I fell in love with him. I knew my months-long journey into writing these characters were going to be a fun ride. People ask all the time how I create the stories, but honestly, they create themselves. Braxton was one of those characters that swooped onto the pages and took over.
Letting go of characters is hard. They become real. When you’re done writing their story, it’s like saying goodbye. When the other baseball series wrapped up, I was left with Cara’s character and couldn’t bear not having her story told. The rest escalated from there and Cessna U’s world developed.
I have lots of hot athletes coming your way, starting with the captain of the baseball team. I hope you enjoy Braxton and Cara as much as I had fun writing them!
